What is the best way to germinate cannabis seeds?

Place each seed on a cotton pad
Using one seed per pad makes it easier to monitor each seed individually and reduces unnecessary handling once the root appears.
Lightly moisten the seed
Set a spray bottle to a fine mist and lightly spray the cotton pad and seed. Place a second cotton pad on top and lightly spray again. The pads should be moist, not soaking wet.
Cover the plate
Place the cotton pads on a plate. Take a piece of transparent kitchen film, make a few small holes in it with a fork and secure it over the plate. This helps maintain a stable, moist environment while still allowing some air exchange.
Keep the seeds dark and stable
Place the plate somewhere dark with a constant temperature of around 20°C / 68°F. A cupboard in a normally heated room often works perfectly. Avoid direct sunlight, cold windowsills, heaters and places where the temperature changes significantly during the day.
Wait 2–5 days
Now comes the difficult part: leave them alone. Check the plate around day 3. Once the white root has reached around 2 to 5 cm, the newly germinated seedling is ready to be moved into soil.
Prepare a small pot
Take a pot with a minimum volume of around 0.25 litres and fill it with a light seed mix or light-mix soil from a reliable brand. Moisten the soil before planting, moist and airy, not saturated.
Plant the germinated seed
Make a small hole in the centre of the soil. Carefully place the seedling into the hole so the root and seed are approximately 0.5 cm below the surface. Be gentle: the new root is extremely delicate. Close the hole without pressing the soil down hard.
Give the seedling the right environment
Seedstockers recommends temperature between 20°C and 27°C / 68–81°F, relative humidity around 60–80%, and at least 18 hours of light per day. When the first leaves appear, allow them to sit just above the surface.
Keep the soil moist, not wet
Check the growing medium regularly. If it looks and feels dry, give it some water. Too much water can cause the young seedling to rot; too little can allow it to dry out and die. This balance is one of the most important parts of successful germination.
Do autoflower and feminized seeds germinate differently?

Autoflowering genetics differ in how the plant develops and starts flowering later in its life cycle. That characteristic doesn't require a different germination process.
Feminization relates to the expected sex of the resulting plant. For both types, the fundamentals stay the same: moisture, darkness, stable temperature, careful handling, patience.
